Tseung Kwan O, What a Morning!
June 3, 2014I love to tell people how much I enjoy giving up my weekends to shoot because it’s the truth; I have no problem waking up early (I can’t remember the last time I stayed up past midnight on a Friday or Saturday night, really!) on a Saturday or Sunday morning (sometimes both!) to head to a client’s home to shoot their pregnant belly, newborn baby, or family of 2, 3, 4, even 5 kids!
This past Sunday was no different…it only required a slight bit more motivation because we’d had a string of unbelievably stunning days (think blue sky, minimal clouds, blazing sun) and AB’s parents and my mom were in town, so all I wanted to do was wake up, have a leisurely breakfast, and enjoy the beginnings of a lazy family day, but off I went to the MTR at a quarter to ten, ready to head out to Tseung Kwan O to meet Seneria Shum and her husband, Eric.
Thanks to efficient Hong Kong public transportation, I reached their place in no time, and it wasn’t long before I was getting the backstory on how their relationship came to be (love does strike in interesting places, as these two met in an elevator at Pacific Place 3!) while the sweet vocal stylings of Karen Carpenter and Andy Gibb played in the background.
Both Seneria and Eric studied in Canada and were a dream pair (read: SO easy) to work with, probably because this wasn’t their first rodeo — they had photos from their engagement shoot (complete with fancy lighting, numerous costume changes, and heavy make-up jobs) littered all around the apartment!
Here are some teaser shots from my prenatal shoot with the Shums. Sorry, no flashes, frills, or fake eyelashes here!
